No school!

What does Sara do when she doesn't have school?  She makes a fort with couch cushions and blankets.  At first she was in there watching t.v., but then she took my laptop in and was playing games.

When Sophie woke up from her nap she got in the fort and was playing for a while.  It was pretty hot in there, so she didn't play for long, but she had fun peeking out the one air hole.

Baby buffet

We had parent/teacher conference this week so the kids had an early day Thursday and no school today.  Yesterday we went to Godfather's Pizza because we love their lunch buffet and it's very inexpensive!  The kids lunch comes with the salad bar, so I let Sophie eat from there too.  Her favorite things were mini corn, shredded cheese, olives, peas and pudding.  What a great lunch huh?  She LOVES feeding herself, so she had lots of fun and made a nice big mess at the same time.

Doritos

I was half asleep on the couch this morning while Sophie was playing.  She found Sara's bag, pulled the Doritos out and dumped them all over the floor.  Then she decided to eat them, play with them and smash them into the carpet.  She was covered in orange, so she went straight to the bath tub.  She smelled a lot better after that, but it was time for her nap.  Nap time is my chance to get ready for the day, so the mess had to wait for later.  Of course the kids had a short day; so as soon as I was ready it was time to pick them up, get lunch then go to parent/teacher conference.  I did finally get around to cleaning it up and the carpet looks fine.  Ahhhhh, life with a baby is never boring!

Cute hair

I love doing Sophie's hair and if I'm quick enough she will sit still for me.  Now I just need to get more bows made :)  For the past week she has been sick and cranky!  I finally took her in to the doctor Monday morning and we find out she has croup.  The first day taking her prescription she was so much better and has slowly been improving every day.  She is still kind of cranky and has developed some bad habits this last week like not falling asleep on her own and not wanting to sit in her highchair to eat, but we are getting back to normal.  I guess with her being the last baby she will always be spoiled- I just can't help myself.

Storage solutions

Sophia likes putting things in Sara's boots.  Maybe she's saving them for later, who knows??  Sara has found a binkie and our old camera when she has gone to put them on.  I usually see her put something in and take it out over and over again.

Baby's favorite game

I'm sure you have all had this happen in your house and it is a favorite here as well.  Sophia found the laundry basket full of clothes and pulled them all out onto the floor.  I think this is the cutest thing, so of course I put the clothes back in the basket over and over again so she could pull them back out over and over again.

I took lots of pictures and we had so much fun!  She can empty the basket faster than Brandon or Sara ever did and laughed a lot.  She is the best baby and I am thankful everyday that we choose each other.   Babies like this make being a mom fun again!

Baby legs pictures

So after I made my first pair I had to make more because I love them!  She has five pair now and probably more to come.  Of course I had to buy outfits to wear with the baby legs and now that's pretty much all she wears.  LOVE IT!

Hair and Teeth

Sophia finally has enough hair to make a tiny little pigtail.  She looks so cute with her hair done instead of down all the time.  I love it!  In other news she has her two bottom teeth and her two top teeth are coming in at the same time.  The last few days have been hard because she has been so uncomfortable.  Hopefully they will break through soon so she can feel better!

I'm Obsessed!

Ok, I don't know where my picture went, but I had to make more baby legs.  I think they are so cute and now I'm obsessed!  I went to Target and they have LOTS of socks!  I made red, white, pink and light brown.  Then I had to buy more dresses to match, so off I went to Kohl's.  I found 3 outfits on sale and bought them all.  I will take more pictures, so check back!

Sledding and the pink marshmallow

We finally got enough snow to go sledding, so we bundled up and drove to a wonderful, big hill about 5 minutes from our house. We were only there for about an hour, but we had lots of fun! I wanted to get snow pants for Sophia, but everywhere was sold out. I finally found this snow suit at Wal-mart and bought it because it was the last one. We probably won't use it much, but I figure I can pass it on to family members and hopefully it will get used enough. She couldn't really move, so when I put her down she just sat there and looked around. She went down the hill with Sara and Daddy and had so much fun! We will try to get back there while we still have some snow this season.

Baby Legs!

How cute are these? Can you believe I made them? I did, and they only took 5 minutes! I saw a tutorial online and had to go to Wal-mart last night to buy knee socks! All you do is cut off the foot, make a cuff out of the part you cut off, then sew it back on. I love them!

Baby food

As if I don't have enough to do I decided to make Sophia's baby food. I only do the vegetables and still buy the fruits because they are a lot harder to do. On the far left is carrots with a little brown sugar. The green one is broccoli with cooked pasta and parmesan cheese, and on the right is sweet potatoes with oatmeal and a little cinnamon. The sweet potatoes I will buy fresh, but usually for lack of time I buy frozen carrots and broccoli which is almost as good. There isn't a whole lot of fruit I can buy frozen that doesn't have seeds and it takes quite a bit of time to peel and seed the fresh fruit. I usually make a big batch once a week or once every other week and freeze most of it, so it's not too much work. Sophia loves it and I enjoy trying different combinations. Next I am going to try sweet potatoes with a little peeled and cooked apple. I just use my blender and it works great!

Play time

Sophia is into EVERYTHING! She goes into the kitchen and if one of the cupboards has been left unlocked she opens it and starts pulling everything out. The other day she was playing peek-a-boo in the blinds and I just had to play with her and get this picture. We keep reminding the kids to keep the doors closed, especially to the bathroom or she will make a big mess! I forgot that I left the bucket I soak clothes in on the floor in the kitchen and she spilled it- there was water all over the floor! Oh man am I there!
