Warm in Idaho

Today was the nicest day of the year so far. It is like 74 degrees outside and not a lot of wind. I have been outside all day today raking up all the old matted grass and mowing the lawn. Now that my legs, arms and back are sore I am downstairs on the computer relaxing. I love the sun!

The packing has begun....

We are leaving for Orlando this Sunday and I have started gathering clothes and all the other things we will need. I like to lay them out, count them, double and triple check everything and then finally pack it all in suitcases. I am doing all this in the basement so it's out of the way, which means many, many trips up and down the stairs for me. We are all very excited and two or three times a day Brandon wants to know how many more days until we leave.
I am also doing as much as I can to get ready for Sara's baptism and birthday which will be about two weeks after we get back. My mind is whirling with things I need to do, so I need to get back to making yet another list.

Cake take two

Here is the cake I decorated this last Monday. It is called Lily of the Valley. It was fun to decorate and I really like the boarders even though I need a lot more practice because they don't really look like they are supposed to yet. I really did not want to keep this huge cake at my house and end up eating it, so Ben took it to work and all the people ate it for me. Ben said everyone thought it was pretty and one lady even asked if I could do a wedding cake for her brother. I just laughed and said no way- I'm scared enough just planning Sara's birthday cake!

Cats are so strange!

This beautiful cat has got some of the strangest behaviors I have ever seen, for example, whenever there is water running in the bathroom she comes in and sits on top of the toilet. Every morning when I am doing Sara's hair she come in and lays down in the sink so Sara can pet her. She chews on and eats any kind of fabric from blankets to ties on dresses to stuffed animals (when we're not around of course). Every night when Brandon is being put to bed she runs in his room under the bed even though she knows I don't want her in there. She gets very sneaky about this and sometimes goes in early when he's getting his pajamas on, and sometimes runs in when we are kissing him goodnight. She likes to sleep outside my bedroom door and as soon as she hears my alarm go off in the morning she starts meowing for breakfast. She is not a loving, affectionate cat and will run away if you try to pet her and she doesn't want you to. Every once in a great while when I am downstairs watching t.v. at night she will come and sit by me on the couch and allow me to pet her. Ahhhhhh, the joys of cats who merely tolerate their owners because we feed them.
