Food for Sophia

I don't have a camera this week because Ben took it with him to Malaysia.  Let's just hope Sophia doesn't do anything too cute.  I am excited because I made new food for Sophia.  She has not been liking the mushy baby food, so I had to come up with something else.  She can eat just about anything we do which is nice, but I don't make dinner every night, so sometimes there is nothing for her to eat but baby food.  I looked for recipes online and kind of combined them to make my own stuff.  I had some cooked chicken in the fridge, so I used that and the food processor cut it up really small.  I also added rice, broccoli and parmesan cheese.  Sophia loved it!  I made a lot, so I hope she likes it for the next month or so.

Back home

We got home from Utah Sunday night and Monday while I was taking a little nap on the couch working hard doing laundry and cleaning the house, Sophie got her finger stuck in the VCR.  Even though she was not happy I had to grab the camera.  She also decided to dump out Sara's colored pencils and make lots of other fun messes.

Chuck-e-cheese and bowling

While we were in Utah for Rachel's wedding I took the kids to chuck-e-cheese for some fun.  Sophie loved watching the "band" perform and all the kids had fun on the rides and playing games.

We also went bowling because the kids have been begging asking nicely for weeks.  The first thing Sara said was "These shoes are ugly!"  Everyone had so much fun.

Valentine love from Grandma E.

We got a Valentine package from Grandma with some fun presents inside.  Dad got a shirt to wear for the wedding and his favorite nuts- pistachios!
Brandon and Sara each got a zhu zhu pet that they have been wanting for a while.
Brandon was most excited about some new Bakugan which apparently have very good g's.
Sophie got some new onesies, an outfit and a new bib.  She has so much fun tearing at the paper and did not want to let it go.

After all the presents had been opened and the kids were off playing with their toys, Sophie got into the chocolate that had been left out on the coffee table and had a little snack.  Thanks Grandma!

Brushing teeth

I have been totally busy with our trip to Utah and my little sister's wedding, because I made her wedding cake.  It turned out ok and I will post pictures when I get some.  Anyways, before we left I got this picture of Sophia brushing her teeth.  She loves to be in on the action when Sara and Brandon are brushing their teeth and doing all their bedtime things.  She mostly just sucks on it, so we have to help her actually brush her three little teeth.

Lunch

Here is the salad I made for lunch today.  Usually I'm not too big on salads especially if I have to make them myself.  I love to eat them, but it takes a lot of work to cut up all the veggies.  Since I started working out again I have been eating healthier and I decided that no matter what it takes I need to do it.  This salad has lettuce, olives, mushrooms, cheese, tomatoes, cucumbers, chicken and a whole avocado.  I was so excited to eat this!  It looked so good I wanted to climb in the bowl and eat my way out.
Here is my yummy salad and I am half-way done.  Believe me- it tasted as good as it looked.  I was so happy while I was eating this and for a long time after.  After this I decided to make and eat more salads.  Mmmmmmmm good stuff!

Cookies and faces

One of my callings right now is Activity Days leader and it is so much fun!  Usually everyone comes over to my house every other Wednesday and we do some kind of activity with treats at the end.  Sophie scored a cookie this week and she absolutely loved it!  Of course when she was done I had to hose her down in the sink and change her clothes, but it was worth it.
Sophie loves making this face.  Usually it comes after saying "mom".  We are trying to teach her to give kisses like this, but she still does the open-mouthed slobber ones.  It's okay though because I love all kinds of kisses from her.  She also likes to bonk heads.  All you have to do is hold her and say "bonk".

Sophie and Daddy

Here is Ben entertaining Sophie so I can take a shower.  I find it funny that this is what he chooses to do.  He keeps doing what he wants to, but talks to her so she stays happy.  Whatever works right?

For the love of binkies!

Sophie loves her binkies, but recently she has not been able to enjoy them much.  She has been sick with croup and has had a stuffy/runny nose for the last week.  She is finally better, so now she likes to suck on them and have a spare to play with.  She will switch around which one is in her mouth and which one she plays with.  The only problem now is she spits them out all over the house and we have to search when we need one.  The places we look first are the cup drawer, in shoes and boots and under the couch.  The are all over the place!
