Peas and Toes

Sophia loves peas!  Now that she can feed herself she gets very excited when I just dump food on her tray and let her do it all by herself.  Cereal, crackers and peas are her favorites!
The kids get Sophia to do the funniest things in the car.  Usually they are trying to keep her happy and quiet.  I just love how flexible babies are and she was just going to town on her toes!  When we would laugh at her she would do her fake laugh to copy what we were doing.

Big girl carseat

Sophie has a new car seat!  Turning one is such a big step, and she has only gotten cuter!  Nice to know we are ending on a high note.

Sophia's 1st Birthday!

My baby is 1!  We had such a fun party with lots of friends and yummy cake.  She loved opening her presents and I had to make sure Sara and Brandon knew she could do it herself.
This is the cake I made for her.  It is supposed to be a block.  I was going to make a bigger cake to match for everyone to eat, but it didn't work out, so I just drew some blocks on it with frosting.

As you can see she loved her cake and dug right in with both hands!  She even went for it face first.  We let her eat as much as she wanted until she started throwing it on the floor, then she took a bath.  She is so much fun and I can't wait to see what the next year brings.  Love you Sophie bug!

Books

Sophia LOVES books and she likes it when someone reads to her.  She sits still for a bit, but then she wants to grab the book and the pages.  At first Sara would try to hold her down so she could finish reading the book, but the Sophia would get mad, cry and want to get down.  I had to teach Sara to read to her as long as she sat still and let her touch the book and pages if she wants.  Mostly we just point to the pictures and let her turn the pages.  I love it because that's when I can sit down and cuddle with her.

Climbing

Sophie has started climbing up on anything she can.  Upstairs she gets up on this container that we keep the gamecube in.  At first she has fun and gets my attention so I can she she is up there.

She doesn't know how to get down yet, so after a while she gets upset because she wants off and if I'm not paying attention and come get her fast enough she starts crying.

Then if it's been way too long and no one has gotten her down yet she cries really loud.  I guess she does know how to get down, she just needs another person to help her. Too funny!

Get excited!

The kids love teaching Sophia new tricks and this one is called get excited.  I'm sure all kids out there have done it and I think it's totally cute!  You can also see her 4 teeth!
She has also started making this face when she eats.  She says "Mmmmmmmm" while she makes the face.  I am trying to teach her "Ahhhhhh" after she takes a drink, but she can't make that sound yet.
