Lulu

Sara's first hermit crab has died, so we got a new one and she named it Lulu. Brandon's crab is still alive and well (I think), he has changed shells once. Hermit crabs have been a great pet because they don't eat a lot and only come out at night.

Super fast hands

Sophia will grab at anything and before you know it she has slobbered all over it. Before Ben could stop her she had his plate and by the time he got it away it was a wet mess, so he just let her have it.
You can't just hold her these days, she must have a toy or something else to drool on, manhandle and destroy. I love this age!

Ballet

Sara wanted to take dance again and when I asked her what she wanted to do she said ballet. She may not be able to do gymnastics like a lot of her friends, but with her long legs and skinny body she can be an amazing ballerina! A lady in our ward has a studio and used to dance with Ballet West, so she is very talented and very nice. So far she is enjoying it, but time will only tell whether or not she has the dedication to stick with it.

Squash

Sophia has been eating rice cereal for about a month now, so I decided to introduce fruits and vegetables. First off is squash and pears. She is doing good and actually eats most of it.

She is still nursing, but after five minutes or so is done and wants to play. I am supplementing with a bottle and she usually eats 4-5 ounces after nursing. She is getting so big and has lots of adorable baby fat rolls!

Goodbye cat!

We had our cat Sadie for about three years and though she came with some very bad habits like chewing on blankets and stuffed animals I was able to deal with it. After we brought Sophia home she started going to the bathroom downstairs in three specific locations. Each day I was cleaning up her messes and hating more and more. Ben and I finally talked about it and decided we would take her to a shelter and be okay with it, because of the stress it would save me from cleaning up messes, keeping all the doors closed and everything fabric put away.

I was going to do it during the day when the kids were in school, but Sara asked that I wait so she could come too. After school the kids played with her (which is rare) and gave her treats, then we loaded her in her cage and drove to the shelter. $22 later we no longer have a cat and the kids are already hoping for a dog. No- we are not getting a dog anytime soon- I told them MAYBE when Sophie is potty-trained.

First day of school!

Celebrate good times come on! I love it when the kids go back to school! I love the routine, the freedom and the naps!
I love that they are not home fighting all day and that I don't have to come up with things for them to do so they don't watch t.v. and play video games all day. I love the separation and that I get to ask "So, what did you do today?"

Brandon is in 1st grade and his teacher is Ms. Morgan. Sara is in 4th grade and her teacher is Ms. Cunningham. Yippee!!!!

Joci and Sophie

We got to eat lunch with Dad at Melaleuca one last time before the kids went back to school and we had fun seeing Lara and Joci there too! Joci is about 1 month younger than Sophie and already rolling over. They looked so cute that day, so I had to get a picture.
