Easy Bake Oven

I thought the Easy Bake Oven would be a great present for Sara, but I was sooooooo wrong. Not that she doesn't love it because she does; it's the parental involvement I have a problem with. I have to stop whatever I'm doing (usually housework) get everything out and let her make some disgusting cookie or cake then clean up the mess after she is done cleaning up her mess. She has been asking me at least three times a day for the last week if we could get her oven out and make something, so when she asked me again today I finally said yes- even though I would rather scrub all the toilets in my house rather than get out that stupid oven that I wish I had never bought. Of course Sara was delighted and I felt good about spending time with her doing something she loved. This time when I put it away I'm going to hide everything and hope she forgets that it even exists.

Cake!

I have just finished a beginning cake decorating class and this is the cake I did using flowers and butterflies that I made. We learned how to make lots of different flowers like roses, daffodils, daisies and sweet peas and how to do different boarders and designs. I am enjoying it so much I have decided to keep going and take the advanced class starting next week.

Easter Fun

We were in Salt Lake for Easter this year and the kids had lots of fun coloring eggs and going on Easter egg hunts.

Crazy Hair Day

It was crazy hair day at Sara's school today. She told me how she wanted her hair and picked out the colors. Brandon just had to be in on this too. Bathtime is going to be colorful tonight!

Leaky things

So for a few days the faucet in the kitchen has been leaking and to get the water all the way off the handle had to be in just the right spot. Ben takes a look and tries to fix it; 30 minutes later he tells me to go buy a new faucet. It takes him the rest of the night, but when he comes to bed at 11:30 he says it's fixed. I love my new faucet and my "handy" husband. Now I get to tell him that the washing machine is leaking....
